Rap. Whether we like it or not, it's now the best-selling music in France. In a handful of years, rappers have managed to fill stages and detonate streaming platforms. For the first time, a series, without caricature, delves into the world of French rap. Directed by Franck Gastambide (Taxi 5, Pattaya), the Validé series, on Canal +, takes the viewer into life, the real, of rappers. With everything that makes the most of rap: the street and thuggishness.

The series runs at 200 an hour, like the lives of these kids who, almost overnight, thanks to a viral video on the networks, become stars. With an ascent as fast as the fall can be. All embodied by stories of life, friendship, humor, love. But also hatred, jealousy, business and big money. With strong guests - Lacrim, Soprano, Kool Shen, Rim’k or Ninho to name a few - but subtly distilled. No way well-known singers loot the top of the bill.

Because Validated, this is the story of Clément - Apash -, a city boy, who wants to help his mother and his sister to live better and break into rap.

He has talent and a bit of cheek. It will be validated by "grown-ups". And by Skyrock the essential in the middle. Which will put him on the podium. But the hardest part is staying there. Buddies, real ones, to help him. Ideas of genius to mark the spirits, social networks having become a showcase as essential as implacable. Clashes too. And getting involved in neighborhood life is not always easy.

Whether we like it or not, we validate. To see on Canal +.
